humm Buy Now Pay Later becomes humm Classic

Important changes effective 10 June

We are writing to inform you of important changes regarding your humm Buy Now Pay Later account with humm BNPL Pty Limited.

Please read this notice carefully so that you understand how these changes impact you.

Why is humm changing?

From 10 June 2025, new laws will apply to buy now pay later products in Australia.

humm Buy Now Pay Later becomes humm Classic

As previously communicated to you, from 10 June 2025, the humm Buy Now Pay Later product will be referred to as ‘humm Classic’.

As of midnight on 9 June 2025, you will no longer be able to make new purchases using your humm Classic account.

The fees and charges that apply to this product are not changing. This means that the humm Classic product will remain interest free always. However, other products offered by the humm Group have different fees and charges that may apply, and interest may be payable on those products.

Change of credit provider

On 10 June 2025, the rights of humm BNPL Pty Limited ACN 129 228 986 (humm BNPL) under your humm Classic loan contract will be transferred to Once Credit Pty Limited ACN 112 319 632 (Once Credit) by way of legal assignment, which means that Once Credit Pty Limited will become the credit provider for your humm Classic account. Once Credit is a subsidiary of humm Group Limited, and Once Credit holds Australian Credit Licence No. 386194.

This transfer will occur automatically on 10 June 2025, and there is nothing you need to do.

Click here to view the credit guide of Once Credit. This document outlines some of Once Credit’s obligations under Australian consumer credit laws and provides you with information regarding Once Credit’s procedure for resolving disputes.

From 10 June 2025, you may receive notices from, or otherwise deal with, Once Credit or humm BNPL acting on behalf of Once Credit in relation to your humm Classic account.

Your obligations under your humm Classic loan contract remain the same, and you must continue making payments to humm BNPL in accordance with the terms of your contract.

Rights you have under the Australian consumer credit laws

From 10 June 2025, your humm Classic account will become regulated by the Australian consumer credit laws as a ‘buy now pay later contract’.

Your humm Classic account is not a ‘low cost credit contract’ under the Australian consumer credit laws.

The fees and charges under your humm Classic account are not changing.

You have certain rights and protections under the Australian consumer credit laws, including the right to:

  • request a variation to your loan contract if you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to comply with your obligations under your loan contract;
  • make a complaint via our internal dispute resolution process, which we must handle in accordance with particular standards and prescribed timeframes; and
  • if your complaint remains unresolved, pursue your complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
